What is YPS – Mentorship ?

An essential part of the Youth Peace Summit programme is the selection, preparation and support of mentors. The mentors apply to the Summit as regular participants but take on themselves extra responsibility in anticipation of the Youth Peace Summit. Mentors make sure other participants feel comfortable, understand the programme and can support in the various programme elements. They are also very important for communication and the evaluation with the participants.

To this end, mentors partake in trainings that help them in this tasks. This involves teambuilding, getting an in-depth overview of the Youth Peace Summit formula, organisation and vision, conflict mediation and communication using NLP methods. These trainings are partially facilitated by Ithaka Academy.

Everyone willing can apply to be a mentor: pre-set experience doesn’t matter in this respect. That way, everyone get the opportunity to learn and most out of their Youth Peace Summit experience.

Do you want to be a mentor? Very great! You can indicate so when registration starts! This is now set to happen in November 2026.
