Saturday March 23rd all the teams making up the Youth Peace Summit preparation team came together for a large meeting in Cafe Restaurant Schlemmer in The Hague. This is the core of the team creating the Youth Peace Summit in June 2026. During this meeting participants discussed the state of organisation, its progress and what steps need to be taken for a succeful event in June. They also discussed the challenges and priorities going onward.
The Youth Peace Summit team has nearly as many involved nationalities as with people from Ukraine, Ghana, Cyprus Syria, Bangladesh and many, many more. They’re all connected to peace and justice in their own way: as students, social workers, freelancers and young professionals, they all volunteer towards the creation of a large youth event in June, receiving 150 participants to discuss peace and creating an actionable plan towards peace for youth and by youth.
Young volunteers tackle all elements of the preparations of this event, including planning, fundraising PR, programming, participation management and much more, and with great results so far!

A special guest was Adam Linton, flying over from the UK for this occassion, and Patrick Groenewegen, director of Ithaka Academie and the initiator of our initiative. He spoke with the volunteers about his dream of creating For Youth
