The mentors apply to the Summit as regular participants but take on extra responsibility in anticipation of the Youth Peace Summit. Mentors ensure other participants feel comfortable, understand the programme, and can support the various programme elements. They are also essential for communicating with participants.

To this end, mentors partake in training that helps them in these tasks. This includes team-building, an in-depth overview of the Youth Peace Summit formula, organisation and vision, conflict mediation, and communication. The Mentor Lead and Ithaka Academy facilitate these trainings.

Everyone willing can apply to be a mentor: pre-set experience doesn’t matter in this respect. That way, everyone gets the opportunity to learn and make the most of their Youth Peace Summit experience.

Do you want to be a mentor? Very great! You can indicate so when registration starts! This is now set for November 2026.
