During three days, we invite 150 young people from all over the world with an aim to have young people discover, learn, develop and draft a plan towards a more peaceful world. We share knowhow, contacts and network and we do this by means of offering a wide and diverse array of workshops, key-notes and excursions covering many different angles of peace work. This effort is fully youth led: organised by a team of diverse and enthusiastic young people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The problem we solve<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Youth summits and conferences are great for LinkedIn and social media posts, and too often not much more. That&#8217;s why for our next iteration of YPS we are taking a different approach. Our goal is not to create a single event, but rather to set up an infrastructure that helps to connect young people to topics, organisations and people that can help them build a lifelong career in peace. Also after our event in June we remain in touch, set up activities and workshops and do we facilitate the activities of our alumni. Our participants become the organizers and the leaders of the next year, making sure that our project is and remains youth-led. We provide the connective tissue that allow organic connections to develop, and to turn these into actions. During the event in June, all participants are asked to pick one of these five topics. They will then follow workshops that are in line with these topics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Participation<br \/><\/strong>Young people should be meaningfully included in <strong>decision-making processes<\/strong> at local, national, and international levels, including peace processes and political institutions. <br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li><strong> Protection<br \/><\/strong>Youth must be protected from <strong>violence, human rights abuses, exploitation, and recruitment<\/strong> by armed groups.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li><strong> Prevention<br \/><\/strong>The resolution emphasizes the role of youth in <strong>preventing conflict and violence<\/strong>, including through education, dialogue, social inclusion, and countering violent extremism.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li><strong> Partnerships<br \/><\/strong>Governments, the UN, civil society, and youth organizations should <strong>work together<\/strong> to promote sustainable peace.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li><strong> Disengagement and Reintegration<br \/><\/strong>Support should be provided for young people disengaging from armed conflict, including <strong>education, employment opportunities, and psychosocial support<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These pillars are the main focus of our activity. At the same time, the document stresses the impact that conflict and war has on the lives of young people. This document set out five key action pillars: Participation, Protection, Prevention, Partnership and Disengagement and Reintegration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the Youth Peace Summit, we use this document as the elemental framework of our activities. You can read this Resolution <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.un.org\/en\/s\/res\/2250(2015)\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This resolution was followed up in 2025 by Resolution UN 2807 , reaffirming the commitment to involving young people in activity towards peace and recognising the importance of including young people in peace initiatives. We aim to make Youth Peace Summit a yearround event, with blogposts, workshops and (digital) activities being organised in every season.
